Dear Nelson Families,


To ensure the safety of our students and staff, please review these essential morning drop-off procedures. Our goal is to keep traffic moving efficiently and, most importantly, keep our children safe.


Parking Restrictions (Southbound Ozanam)

No Parking on Southbound Ozanam: Parking is strictly prohibited on the southbound side of Ozanam during the following times:

  • 7:00 AM – 8:30 AM

  • 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Parking here blocks traffic flow and creates an extremely unsafe situation for students attempting to cross the street. Niles Police will be present tomorrow to enforce these restrictions.


The Parent Drop-Off Lane (Northbound Ozanam)

Please use the designated drop-off lane on the northbound side of the street and follow these rules:

  • Stay in Your Vehicle: To keep the line moving, drivers must remain in their cars. Nelson staff are on hand to help your child exit and enter the building safely.

  • No Parking in the Lane: If you wish to walk your child to the door, you must park in a legal space elsewhere. Do not leave your car unattended in the drop-off lane.

  • Single File Only: Do not double-park or pull up next to the lane to let your child out. This is dangerous for your child and others.

  • Exit Northward: After drop-off, you must proceed north on Ozanam. Do not attempt U-turns, as they cause significant traffic congestion and safety risks.
