Assistant Principal

Madilyn Henigman was appointed as Nelson’s assistant principal on June 4 by the District 63 Board of Education. She stepped into the role on July 1 when current Assistant Principal Sarah Ezzat became the Principal of Mark Twain Elementary.

Ms. Henigman began her career as an Environmental Educator for Douglas Hart Nature Center in Mattoon. In 2021, she joined Carpentersville Community Consolidated School District 300 as a Second Language Teacher. Before becoming the assistant principal at Nelson, she served as a Language Arts Teacher for Community Consolidated School District 21 in Wheeling.

A graduate of Illinois State University (ISU), Ms. Henigman holds a bachelor's degree in middle level education. She will complete her master's degree in educational administration at ISU this December.
